Howdy, I’m the Walt in WaltAbout.Com. Since moving to Colorado in 2015 I have truly been Living the Dream. I hope you enjoy, are entertained and at times enlightened as I tell you about my WaltAbouts here in beautiful Colorado.

A baby boomer born in Poughkeepsie, New York. I spent my juvenile years growing up in Hyde Park on a chicken farm. Played out my teen years in Westchester County and then on to the Air Force getting myself on the WaltAbout of life. Four years later with my honorable discharge in hand I immediately went to work and eventually ended up working for IBM 17 years. A rich experience as I actually did go from the farmhouse to the penthouse. The next remarkable chapter in my life saw me in the entertainment industry.

Viva Rock Vegas
Star Trek Voyager
Working in the business I went from the stone age to the space age, another 17 year career as I worked in front of and behind the cameras. From prep to post I experienced the production process as talent (mostly background work but did a stunt and a commercial) and behind the scenes as a 1st AD, 2nd AD, and PA. I had an agent while in the LA area and still maintain my membership in SAG/AFTRA. Studying at Santa Monica College I acquired the knowledge to build web sites and video editing. I have an editing bay in my home and hopefully that will facilitate my building a great site to detail my WaltAbouts. Click here to see a little more about my life in the business.

Biking has been a major part of my WaltAbouts. I have accomplished some amazing personal milestones in both distance and elevation. My time at Mount Evans was nothing short of epic as The Rocky Mountain Dishwasher.

Living in the foothills of the Rockies provided me with ample trails to ride on at all skill levels and degrees of difficulty. I found that I like technical routes, that is to say lots of switchbacks.

My three bikes Scout, Victor and My Sharona are all configured to carry gear for photography, camping and food. Scout when fully loaded is over 60 pounds.

Chipmunk
The Mighty Buffalo
From the fun-sized chipmunk to the massive buffalo I have been fortunate to locate, observe and get imagery of many of the diverse wildlife species while on WaltAbout. Photography became one of my biggest passions and at the same time I saw first hand the synergy among water, land and wildlife that ultimately drives the Phenology of the region. It is my sincere wish that you enjoy my WaltAbout experiences as they have unfolded.
